Forex Signal Mentor is a Forex training course created by Forex Mentor Loz Lawn. The course is made up of a series of videos showing forex strategies. Having said that I urge you to keep reading because there are quite a few additional things that are not mentioned on the Forex Signal Mentor home page. Forex Mentor Videos

At the heart of the course are the series of videos. If you have seen any of Loz’s other courses you will know that he uses videos a lot and this course is no exception. The videos are divided into three different sections all devoted to learning forex trading:

Forex Signal Mentor Trading Strategies

These videos explain each of the trading strategies that make up the course. There are currently thirteen forex mentor videos in the series with several more being recorded. You can expect a new video every few weeks in this section. Each video can be used on its own to make a trade, or they can be combined together to make for a more complete picture of the market sentiment.

Each video is around 30 minutes in length. Loz’s approach is to explain the thinking behind the setup and then traverse the charts showing multiple examples of the set up. These videos assume no prior knowledge of Forex trading and even if you are completely new to Forex, you will be able to follow along with no problem.

Note: One of the great things I found with these videos is that Loz will often digress and give you more information than just the trading signal he is working on so although there are 13 strategies, the reality is that you are getting more than one strategy per video in many cases.

You will initially suffer from information overload and what I recommend is to start with maybe three of the forex strategies that appeal to you and suit your life style and spend a few weeks mastering them before adding the other strategies. For example there are strategies that will suit people who have to go out to work every day and need a set-and-forget system; and there are strategies that work best on the shorter time frames for those that have free time to sit in front of the trading station.

In addition to the trading strategies there are a series of 5 introduction videos that take you through the mechanics of how trading the Forex works and most importantly money management best practices. Learning correct money management  from a top Forex mentor will save you from making a terrible mistake and potentially losing all of your account balance. This cautious and analytical approach to trading is at the heart of Loz’s forex mentor methodology.

Forex Signal Mentor Live Trading Examples

The next set of forex mentor videos are the live trading examples. In these videos Loz goes through actual live trades and explains the motivation behind each one and how he applies the strategies to decide when to open a trade.

These forex mentor videos are a perfect companion to the strategy videos and you skip them at your peril. The reason these are so powerful is because they are a sort of “stream of consciousness” from Loz. As each trade unfolds Loz automatically uses his years of experience which invariably reveals more information than is contained in the strategy videos.

These live examples let you get into the mindset of a successful Forex trader which will help to make you a more savvy trader yourself. Loz points out lots of gotchas that you need to watch out for when deciding whether or not to open a trade.

Forex Signal Mentor Member Request Videos

The third set of videos that are available are the user requests. Here, Loz takes member questions and creates a bespoke video to answer that question. For example if you have a question about strategy 3, you can call Loz (yes call!) and he will go through your question over the phone and then create a video about it so the rest of the members benefit.

This is a great example of how Loz over-delivers in this course and I will talk about more examples of this later. In the beginning people often have the same questions and you  should not be afraid of asking a question either in the group chats (more later) or by calling Loz directly.

Forex Signal Mentor Live Trading Assistance

A couple of weeks after I joined the course in December, Forex Mentor Loz announced that he was going to start offering live trade assistance for live ECN accounts. The goal here was to grow a $1,000 account to $100,000 within a calendar year. This is a hidden benefit of the course and was not something I was expecting. The way this works is that you open your live account and are added to a Skype group. Then when a forex trading signal opportunity occurs, Loz will announce it in the chat, including Take Profit and Stop Loss levels. For me this seemed like the perfect way to truly test the system so I signed up for the live account and waited the signals to be announced.

The results were very impressive. Have a look at the following screen capture from my live account.

Live Account Trades

As you can see, in 3 days I made 4 trades based on Loz’s live calls and 3 were in profit and 1 broke even. I made 8.5% on my starting balance in that time. Now $85 may not sound like a lot, but over 20 trading days that works out at around $550 per month which is nice. Also this was trading within Loz’s money management rules. Once the live balance is up to $10,000 we will be trading at around $10 per pip which would have equated to $850 in 3 days!

We stopped at this point for the Christmas break and have only recently started live trading again I will be posting my live trade results HERE as we do them (another 60 pips made so the course has been easily paid for already).

Forex Signal Mentor Webinars

New for 2010 are the Forex Signal Mentor webinars. This is a paid service available to Forex Signal Members only. The webinars typically run for around 8 hours and during that time Loz shows his live trades as the forex trading signals unfold, takes questions from the floor and when the market is quiet, goes into other aspects of his Forex trading system. For example we recently went deeply into line studies and Fibonacci Retracements. When Loz answers a question there are no yes or no answers, his answers often run to an hour using lots of examples from the charts to illustrate.

These forex mentor webinars are fantastic as they show Loz going about his business as usual so you get to see exactly how and why he opens a position. Forex Signal Mentor Skype Groups

When you join FSM, you are automatically added to the forex mentor Skype chat group. This group contains novice and more experienced traders all calling out their trades and discussing results. This acts like a free signal service in its own right and is a great way to hone your skills on your demo account. Loz also actively participates in these chats an corrects calls as required.

Forex Signal Mentor Forum

The final part of the program is the Forex Signal Mentor forum. This is where you can have further interaction with the group and forex mentor Loz and discuss strategies etc. This complements the Skype chats perfectly as you can post images of your trade setups to be analyzed etc.
